Talking AI characters in ChatGPT

Add bitHuman to ChatGPT and its AI characters, talking avatars with their own voices, speak in your chat. You don't need a bitHuman account to use it. In a ChatGPT chat you can:

• see bitHuman's characters, with a picture of each;
• have one say your exact words, 3 to 200 characters (about 15 seconds), as a video clip you can download or share;
• talk to one live, by voice, for up to a minute.

Until bitHuman is listed in ChatGPT's app directory, you add it as your own app. This needs a Plus, Pro, Business or Enterprise plan. Open your profile menu, then Settings, Apps, Advanced settings, and turn on Developer mode. Settings, Apps then shows a Create button.

In Settings, Apps, choose Create. Name it bitHuman, paste the MCP server address below, and set Authentication to No authentication. Tick I trust this application, then Create. ChatGPT moves these menus from time to time; if a label differs, look for Apps and Developer mode in Settings.

Start a new chat, choose +, pick bitHuman, and ask for a character by name. A row of character cards appears in the chat, and asking for a line plays a short clip of that character saying it.

• “Show me the bitHuman characters.”
• “Make Gio say: Welcome to the team, everyone!”
• “Let me talk to Pip live.”

ChatGPT writes the words; bitHuman voices them and animates the character on its own servers, then the clip plays in the chat, labelled as AI-generated. A live conversation opens in ChatGPT's large view, and closing it ends the call. Each person can make 10 new clips a day, asking for the same line again replays it, and clips are kept for 7 days.

If something does not show up:

• No Create button under Apps: turn on Developer mode first.
• bitHuman is missing from the + menu: open a new chat, and check the app is listed in Settings, Apps.
• New characters do not show after an update: ChatGPT keeps the old version of the app, so delete it in Settings, Apps and add it again.

Your assistant writes the words. The connector calls no AI model to write or change them; it only voices and animates them. Every character is an AI character, not a real person, and every clip is labelled as AI-generated in the player.

The connector sets no cookies, and it receives no name, email address, account, chat history, memory or file from ChatGPT. Each clip sits at an unguessable web address for 7 days, then it is deleted.

The ChatGPT app speaks only as bitHuman's own characters. To use your own avatar or voice, create an agent and build with the CLI's MCP server or the SDKs.

Essence 2 renders a photoreal person from one portrait. Expression 2 renders any character, from people to animals and cartoons, from one portrait. Creating an agent needs a paid plan, Creator or higher.
