What is a credit?
One credit is roughly equivalent to one minute of avatar time. When you run a session, credits are deducted each minute based on the model and deployment type you use. For example, an Essence avatar running on bitHuman Cloud uses 2 credits per minute, while the same model self-hosted uses only 1. Agent generation is a one-time flat cost of 250 credits — same rate for both Essence and Expression avatars.

Additional credits can be purchased at any time from your dashboard. Purchased credits never expire and stack on top of your free monthly allowance.

Is there a free tier?
Yes. Every account receives 99 free credits each month, no credit card required. That is enough for roughly 49 minutes of Essence cloud usage or 24 minutes of Expression cloud usage.
What happens when my credits run out?
Active sessions will wind down gracefully, and new sessions will not start until you have credits available. You can purchase additional credits at any time from the dashboard billing page.
Do unused credits roll over?
Free monthly credits do not roll over — they reset each billing cycle. Purchased credits never expire and remain in your account until used.
Is the Swift audio-only mode really free?
Yes. The audio-only Swift SDK mode is completely unmetered and free. It uses on-device processing with no cloud GPU resources, so there is nothing to bill for.
What are Agent Conversations, and how are they different from credits?
Credits power your own SDK and API usage (running avatars in your apps). Agent Conversations are the hosted, in-browser chats visitors have with your published agents — metered separately with a monthly allowance per plan (Free 10 minutes, Creator 180 minutes, Pro 1,000 minutes, Business 5,000 minutes, Enterprise 25,000 minutes). The two allowances don't draw from each other.
